Builder terms
*Effective 20 September 2026. Version 1.4.*
The service
BuilderVoice shows businesses anonymised previews of homeowner projects. On new projects, the homeowner selects up to five businesses; a selected business pays the displayed fee to accept an introduction. Directory businesses must register before accessing contact details. Older projects may still use a request followed by homeowner acceptance. These terms apply to the business that registers and to every team member it invites.
Credentials and honesty
- Everything on your profile must be true and kept current: trades, service areas, job sizes, insurance, registrations and business details.
- You must tell us within 7 days if any verified credential lapses, is cancelled or changes.
- We may check documents and public registers, and may suspend or remove a profile for inaccuracy, without refund of credits already used.
Previews and requests
- Previews are confidential and for deciding whether to ask to be introduced. You must not copy, share or attempt to identify a homeowner from a preview.
- Asking to be introduced is a statement that you are willing and able to do the work described, at the terms you enter, in the period you state.
Credits and fees
- A credit pack is paid in advance. Credits are deducted when you accept a paid introduction selected by the homeowner, or when a homeowner accepts your request on an older project, at the price shown before confirmation. Fees can vary by trade or assessed project value. Each accepting business pays its own introduction fee. A saved introduction price does not increase after it is shown to you. A market value estimate is not a quote, confirmed budget or guarantee of work; carry out your own assessment.
- Credits are not refundable except as set out here, and expire 24 months after purchase.
- We refund the credits for an introduction if the homeowner's details are unreachable or the project was not genuine, provided you record the outcome and tell us within 14 days. We decide reasonably; the ledger on your billing page is the record.
- Prices are shown inclusive of VAT where applicable. We may change prices with 30 days' notice; changes do not affect credits already bought.
After an introduction
- Contact the homeowner within two working days, saying you came through BuilderVoice.
- Use the homeowner's details for that project only. Do not add them to marketing lists, pass them on, or contact them about anything else.
- Record the outcome (contact, visit, quote, won, lost) so we can refund where due and improve matching.
- Be honest and courteous. A pattern of complaints, no-shows or pressure selling leads to suspension.
Data protection
For a homeowner's personal data received through an introduction you are an independent controller and must comply with UK GDPR: keep it secure, use it only for the project, delete it when no longer needed, and answer the homeowner's requests. Our own use of your data is described in our [privacy policy](/legal/privacy).
Liability and law
We introduce; we do not guarantee that any homeowner will proceed, respond or pay. Our liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, except for what cannot be excluded by law. Either side may end this agreement at any time; unused credits are handled as set out above. English law and courts apply.
